heritage walk November, 2022

Seventy Five students comprising of students of Classes IV and V from St Karen’s Primary School and Kanya Madhya Vidyalaya (Amla Tola), T. Raza High School and Kendriya Vidyalaya (Kankarbagh) of Patna on 25th November (Friday) along with teachers participated in a heritage walk organized by the Bihar Heritage Development Society (BHDS) at Buddha Smriti Park with the aim of celebrating World Heritage Week to create awareness amongst the students about the significance of Patna’s heritage.  For the first time such a heritage walk specifically for such young school children has been organized in Bihar. Mrs Bandana Preyashi, Secretary, Art, Culture and Youth Department cum CEO BHDS said that the initiative to organize heritage walks for young children by BHDS has been taken to sensitize the young minds to our historical heritage.  The students were oriented by the Executive Director, Dr. Bijoy Chaudhary and the walk was led by Dr.  Arun Kumar, Dr.  Oishi Roy and Dr.  Amit Ranjan.

Activities such as painting and enactment of Buddha’s postures and gestures were included so that the excitement to learn could be felt by the students. The children also painted the monuments, sculptures present in the park.
